BACK HOME AGAIN!!!!

New England Dragway, Our old home track. We drove one thousand miles in 16 hours to arrive at the home of our very close friends the Devlins who graciously opened their home to our tired and worn out race team. It was good to be home. Our schedule allowed us a few days to visit with friends and family in Gloucester, Rockport and Salisbury Massachusettes who we had not seen in over a year. A quick stop at Dan Page race cars for some chassis updates and then to Tom Howells for some lettering repairs. A trip up North would not be complete without a visit to our friends at Rowe Machine. On Saturday we arrived at the track, parked and sat waiting as the skies opened up to a summer afternoon thunder storm and just as quickly the rain went away, the crew dried the track and the fans piled in. In addition to our regular crew and family we were joined by Bills brothers John and Rick as well as Nephew Jack. Special thanks to John Naves and Avenger Metal Products. The Shooting Star race team met Fred Tiggs in the first round where we ran 6.43 @ 214 m.p.h. to Freds 6.12 @ 231 m.p.h.. In the second round we paired against Bunny and the Boys as we sat with engines blazing the tree would not activate. The starter backed us out to reset the computer, as we went in to the lights fully staged with engines roaring, the lights failed a second time. We had no choice but to shut down and let the track crew do their work, while our cars cooled down to make a later pass. The rest of that session ran without a hitch and Bunny and the Shooting Star came back out as the final pass of the night. This time the light was cooperating, The Shooting Star ran 4.06 @ 177m.p.h. 1/8 mile, 6.29 @ 218 1/4 mile to Bunny's 6.24 @ 226 m.p.h. for the upset of the evening. The crew went wild to see the quickest time the Shooting Star has run at this track. The crowd loved it! Thanks to Mark Erickson and Joe Lombardo for inviting us back to our favorite track, as always it was a pleasure to work with y'all. Haha! The team did a quick service of the car in preparation for the final race of this tour, in Douglas, GA. Nancy, Rory, Neal, Brent AKA The Devlin B&B. Special Thanks for your support and never ending friendship! Can we put our reservation for the year 2001 in now ? LOL

!!!!!!....See Ya Next Time...!!!!!!
