Here's The Results For Eastside Dragway, April 23, 2000
Eastside Dragway, Waynesboro Va. Easter Sunday and we are celebrating at our usual holiday site. The field included: Mike Preslar, Bruce Mullins, Billy Gibson, Bunny Burkett and Greg Beckner. The two run Chicago style race started with the Shooting Star against Greg Beckners Corvette. The Shooting Star ran a 4.34 @ 173.76 to the Corvettes 4.69. That run placed us in the final round against the awesome track favorite Miss Bunny Burkett. Minutes before the final Bunny found her Blower was broken and Funny Car driver Mike Preslar stepped up to loan her his spare. The next 30 minutes was spent fitting the S.S.I. to her motor with virtually crews from all teams pitching in to help the Burkett crew make the final round. With only seconds to spare the feat was accomplished and Bunny made it to the final round where the crowd got what they were waiting for. The Shooting Star went 4.24 @ 175 M.P.H. but in keeping with the holiday the "Bunny" took the win with a 4.20 @ 176 M.P.H. . Great crowd, Great weather and Great Racing.
