The perfect ending to an awesome season!

Crew: Kimberley, Bill, Matthew and Eric

The start of the race day was questionable. We all thought for sure it would end up raining and the race would never get started. To top it off it was bitterly cold.

To warm things up, another race team who ran into some bad luck the night before, put on a delicious barbecue and invited all the racers to share the feast. Thanks so much for the food.

The race was delayed due to the questionable weather conditions for quite some time. When we finally got started we were paired up against our favorite crazy man Charlie "the Godfather" Gambino. After the burnout and our traditional dry hops the two cars staged and were off. We are not sure what Charlie ran due to technical difficulties with the timing print out, but we ran 4.22. Back to the pits for round two prep.

Second round had us paired up against Todd Bauknecht and his lightening quick dragster. Todd took the win light with a 4.230 vs. our 4.364. Although Todd took the win, we won the right to be in the final against Jim Dickey.

Final round Bill was paired up against Jim Dickey for the win. Not only did Bill take the win light, he also got a bonus for high M.P.H. of the race. What an awesome way to end the race season!

We are so grateful to have had a successful race season. Thanks to our dedicated and hard working team, our driver and driving force Bill, our sponsors Avenger, Inc. of Ipswich and Plaistow Powersports, Office Depot and most importantly thanks to God for keeping us safe and allowing us the opportunity to do something we love so much, year after year.

Bill is already preparing for next years season. Bill and I are looking forward to seeing all the Southern Fuel Coupes racers and their crews at the banquet in Pigeon Forge Tenn. in January. We will see you all next year!
