Well, finally, got my page going. Thanks to a lot of help from the webmaster@hotrodder.com Anyways, my name is Albert, I am 19 years old and live in Central California. I own a 1971 Camaro that me and my father are slowly bringing back to life. My father owns a 1965 Chevelle Malibu, that is in all original condition, except for a few minor upgrades.
Now on to the Camaro, well, Me and my father started working on it the summer of '97, I had spent that whole summer sanding down, and primering the car, and boy, was it hot outside. Well, after that, we started working to get it running, after a few bugs were worked out, it purred like a kitten. We got the interior looking really nice, The dash and gauges were in really good condition, I found an Automatic console, and installed that, along with new carpet and headliner. After this, I was able to get it liscensed, The first day I drove the car was to school, just right before thanksgiving. Well, as time went on, me and my father talked about different things we wanted done to it.
In summer of '98, right after I graduated from school, we took out the motor, and rebuilt the whole thing from the bottom up. We installed a equivilant cam to the L82 version, installed headers, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, new double roller timing chain, a 3-row radiator, and had the heads rebuilt. Also, we put a dual, stainless steel exhaust system on it.
In summer of 99, I temporarily painted the car white, to cover the primer, and seal it. That was after we did all the body work. I am soon going to get it painted a Metallic Silver, with Black stripes.
Well, now on to the Chevelle, its a 1965 Chevelle Malibu, has the original 283/powerglide. My father rebuilt the motor, re-upholstered the seats, put "baby moons" (rims/tires) on it. And we are currently upgrading all suspension components to Poly-urethane, and soon to have disc brakes up front. We had to stop working on this becuz my father is going thru cancer treatment at the moment. He will hopefully be back and on his feet soon. wish him the best of luck, I love ya Dad!
