1970 Road Runner to Superbird Resto page

This will be built into a car I believe Mopar should have built, A Superbird convertible. I bought this car for the sum of $1400 bucks Canadian. Its all there less drive train, but needs some floor/body/frame work (look at the pictures below). Believe it or not, this is in about the same shape as the barracuda was 8). I bought this car on April 1'99. Yes, April fools day (read on to find out about the front end) but it suits the day doesn't it? I have been able to locate second owner by tracing the ownership. He had purchased the car in 1975. When he bought it, he didn't like the color, so he had changed it to green during his ownership. He owned the car up to 1984. The car had been in an accident involving the front end during the time he owned it. He sold it in 1985 (with front end damage). It was at this time that the 70 coronet front end was installed (as far as I can figure). I guess the new owner could not find a replacement to put on the car, or liked the 70 Coronet front better, and was painted red. It had gone through 4 owners between the second owner and I. Well, actually 4 on paper, at least 2 more didn't transfer title to their names after the last titled owner (kind of floated around person to person till I bought it). It is a pretty stripper Road Runner, with the only extra cost item being the lemon twist paint. Manual steering/brakes, am radio, and stripe delete on the trunk, and power top was about all the fender tag said (see below). It is a Factory Road Runner, 383 auto,3.23s, bench seat, and has a power top. Believe it or not, from picture 1-25, I still could open and close the doors fine, and the roof was aligned perfectly. I have got most of the parts to convert to a superbird already.

The fender tag says it all, no frills Road Runner, the way Ma Mopar designed these cars to be

Total production # for all 70 RR convertibles is 684
Base price 3289.00
