My first car was a 1986 Dodge Charger Shelby. I bought it off of my Grandparnets for $1600. It has a crysler turbo motor in it. I trad it in to them for one of their trucks a 2001 Dodge Ram. They still have the car in there Front yard For Sale. It is very nice it just needs a new clutch and some emissons stuff and radio and a new back sturd. Well being 18 it was hard making 1200 dollar a month payments on a truck so i gave it back for them and my exstep dad gave me a 1965 ford fairlane 500. It has a in line 6. this car is so much fun to drive. she does not look great she has rust on the roof and body but no rust throw. starts and runs very good and sound amazing. I have had so many offers on this car. I really hate to sale it because this is my only way around and i enjoy driving it but i think that i would let her go for a good offer. But my bestfriend is in love with this car and wants to buy it. He said if some one can give more than him to sale it to them. Well if you would like anymore infomation on the to cars I have listed not the truck but the cars feel free to e-mail me. @ henning02@hotmail.com. Take care and thanks for reading.

I got my first 1951 Mercury from a car show in Key West Florida.Soon after I moved to northwest Florida where I hired a resoration company to redo my interior, stop some oil leaks and repaint the car.I was told this would be done in 9 months. After 3 1/2 years,$15,000 dollars and a law suit, the restoration shop was to release my car to Stripmasters of Milton Florida.Stripmasters was going to fix everthing, off frame restoration, big promises of big things.Instead I got fake bills crappy work and after $39,000 dollars to this guy I got my car back in boxes.Out Of this $39,000 I got an LT1 motor, which turn out to be Junk,a core and not a running motor as promised.Ive had this motor re built and now I ve got $9,000 in this motor. To make this long story short after 7 years and over $70,000 dollars I still dont have a driveable car.I want to say to those who might choose to get a hotrod....buy one thats already built or build it yourself. My first car was actually a truck. A 1980 chev 3/4 ton crew cab with a long box. I had this mary white beast for about a month, i drove this thing like it was a 1980 camaro. I would race everybody that i could, until one day i raced a later model truck, i won the race, but blew a piston rod through the oil pan. After that i got an 82 honda civic

My first car was a '72 Mustang. It was baby blue with dark blue racing strips down the hood. It's first owner was a 16-year old kid in Idaho whose Dad bought it for him and had a custom paint job done. It's second owner was a 16-year old girl. I was it's third, 16-year old, first car owner. It cost me $600 with the two studded tires in the trunk. That first three months I had to replace the shocks, tires, water pump, fuel pump, radiator, plug wires, distributor, and a whole buch more. It was worth it though. My Dad stood over me, barking directions as I learned that car inside and out. I eventually sold it to another 16-year old, looking to buy his first car.

Compton, California 1964, what a great time to be growing up. I always had a love for cars and always will. Most kids in my neighborhood at that time were dreaming of owning Corvair Monzas , Volkswagons or if they had just a little bit of buck, Mustangs. I was somewhat a bit off-center and I wanted a Porsche. Hell, no one in the neighborhood even knew what a Porsche was. And I didn't even know why I wanted a Porsche so bad either, other than I had heard they were supposed to be fast. So I saved almost every dime I earned from cutting lawns and working weekends in my father's landscape business (age 11 thru 18) and finally, by the time I was 19, I bought my first car, a white 1966 912 Porsche (it was 1969) from an attorney out of Manhattan Beach Ca. Biggest mistake of my life. It looked like a Porsche, smelled like a Porsche and felt like a Porsche, as long as it was standing still. First off, it was a four banger and by all rights it was one of the slowest cars on the road. It had a 1600 cc engine which was just a punched-out VW engine with dual solex carbuerators. I learned the hard way just how slow the car was. Late one night I picked on an Opel GT to race(you know one of those fake little corvette wannabes) and to my chagrin and embarrassment, the little sucker blew my doors off racing down the 91 frwy. After that I only searched out automatic Pintos to race. Besides being slow, the car was a nightmare to maintain (valves), particulalrly if you were a college student with very limited funds. I blew the engine at least 3 times before I dumped it. But at least I looked good when it was rolling. But there is one thing about owning a Porsche, resale value is always good. I bought the car for $3600 in 1969 and I sold it in 1975 with a blown engine for $2500. But I'm definitely a slow learner, I have a 1988 911 Carrera today that I've owned for 12 years.

My First car...hmm...well it was the summer of 2000. I was working with my dad and he had to stop and get his work van looked at, at a local shop. While we were waiting around, we decided to walk around a little. We were outside when I saw the most beautiful thing in all the world, A Volkswagen Beetle! Im not sure what year this one was, but I was 15 and you know, you dont pay that much attention to cars until you actually get a chance to drive them. Well at least me :). Anyways, after ranting and raving for several months about how I wanted one, Dad told me to check around. I still remember his exact words "You know, the best place to find a car like that is around here, locally". Well I went on and on searching and telling him how much I wanted one. One day on the way home from work going to our house, I spotted one, a yellow one in the middle of a junkyard it was like a sign from above. I went down there with a buddy of mine and high hopes and talked to the owner, he informed me that it wasnt his to sell, but he had 3 more around there. Well, the next beauty he showed me happened to be a 1963 Bug with a Baja kit on it. The car had a tarp over it and was in between a few trees. It had a cloth sunroof and the paintjob was blue with a white stripe down the center. Well I ended up paying $100 for it, had free access to the other ones for parts, and Dad and I took it home via pulling it with the tractor that day. I broke out the wirebrush and some other stuff and went to work.I took everything off the body, down to the steel. It didnt have any dents at all! The body was in amazing shape, and the Baja kit was fiberglass so no worries there. I had a dude come up and paint it for me, snap on some new emblems, I dropped a 65hp, 4-speed Man. engine in it, brand new interior, body molding, yadda yadda yadda, all in all I think I put 1800k-2000k into it, and now its my Blue Angel. I believe I will own that car the rest of my life. Thanks! Tinsman

My first car was a 1979 Chrysler Cordoba. Oh, it was nice; it had two tone paint, beige on light brown, and a stock 318 with a 2 bbl carb and a 727 (I think?). The car was rust free except for the bottom of the trunk. It had been repainted and had been sitting around for 10 years in both my grandpa's and my garage. It only had 89,000 miles on it. When I got my license I took it for a spin. Well, needless to say, it needed some work. My dad and I worked on that thing through the whole summer of 2001. Actually, he did most of the working while I held the light, but I learned a lot! Anyway, we fixed all the bugs (not much really just some small things, a/c which still doesn't work but that's why we invented windows) and I started driving the car on a regular basis. I got bored with the original radio, so I bought a poineer cd deck (50 x 4) and poineer speakers, which I installed myself. By now, everyone at school knows I have the pimpin' car on campus, sound AND style! Not for long. This is where it gets depressing. I was driving on the highway and looking for a space in the lane next to me to move over for my exit. So I found a space and looked over my shoulder to check my blind spot (a problem on those luxo barges) to make sure I wouldn't cut anyone off. This is precisely the moment when the mattress in the back of some damn fool's pickup decides it's time to get off. I look forwards to see the four or five cars in front of me completely stopped in traffic. Well, 50 feet isn't enough space to stop 3800 pounds of steel, and being that my car was so low and theirs was a bronco, I went right under their back end. Ouch. That was my first and only accident, which by the way, I DIDN"T get a ticket for. My dad kept the Cordoba, and wants to use the frame for a kit car. Now I have a white '88 Mercury Grand Marquis with no rust (Texas car) that we got for 2,000. This one needs work too, but the interior is nicer. It's got the 5.0 V8, EFI, and a four speed AT. The body has some dings and I had to replace the starter, but so far it's a really nice car, not as fast though. Oh, and I can't rewire a new radio because the previous owner cut all the wires on the old radio and all the wires to do now are blow fuses. At least the engine sounds nice...

My first car, which I still own and love, is a 1997 Buick Skylark Custom. It has the General Motors 2.4 litre twin cam engine which produces 150 horsepower and 150 foot-pounds of torque at, I think, 6000 rpm. People often mistake Buicks for "old people" cars and frankly, I'm sick of it. The car has already raced, and beaten, an Eclipse, Intrepid, 2 Stratus's, a Ford ZX2, and a Pontiac Grand Am. It's safe to say that its got balls...

My first car was actually a truck. My dad puchased a 76 Chevy from my grandpa for $2000. It had a running 350 in it but it burnt as much oil as it did gas. I was 12. It seemed that the only reason I went to school was so that I would have to stop working on the truck. I couldn't wait to get home. I hade been working with my dad since i was about 7 years old, and believe it or not, he had been putting my money in a seperate acount. 5 years working with him gave me $4500. I was so supprised. I sanded the whole truck down by hand, and grinded out most of the hard spots. Problem was that i found that it had been rusting from the inside out, i figured, what the hell i'll do it anyway. By then I had made all my dads friends my friends. One of which painted the truck for me, baby blue with orange flames. It was sweet. I tore out the 350 and took it completely apart. Halfway threw putting new seals on it i noticed indentions in a few heads. Thats when i decided i was going to get it professionally rebuilt. With about 3 grand and some help from friends we rebuilt the engine and made it into a 380 hp 350, it dynoed out making 405 lbs. torque to the rear wheels. Buy then i had purchases a new rearend with 4.72 gears. I lowered it, front 2 inches......back 4 inches, and put 50's on it. A few lights, rollpan, billet accessories, and some speakers.....i almsot broke down and cried. I finally turned 16 and the truck was a true looker. I had customized the exaust running true duals with flowmaster mufflers and free flowing converters. but that wasn't the end, i installed a y in each pipe running straight off the shorty headers. I little flip of the switch and people could hear me for miles, plus i got about 3 miles more to the gallon.....huge difference. The first day i drove it to school, i had a jam contest with a guy......my 2 impp 12's out bumped his 3 tens and later that day he keyed my truck. Buck my dads friends repainted the door, and 2 months later, at 16 and a 1/2....we sold my rod for $6000. It was worth 12, and priceless to me. I forgave my dad later when when we cosigned on an 87 bronco. I'm in the process of beefing up the boss 302, and i;ve already made some other perfections including, full 3 inch exuast with side pipes, convertable top, shift kit, 4 inch susp. lift, 2 body lift. I put a 1600 watt american pro amp running 2 performance teknique 12's in the back, major boom. I endend up having to rebuild the window parts in the back because of the vibration. All it lacks is an awesome paint job, and it's got a little slack in the rear end, so it will soon be my dream truck. I'm also working on a plan to do the biggest customizing job i've ever dreamed of. I like the low riders, but i like the jacked trucks too, and the bronco looks good at both. So i'm trying to devise a why to raise the and lower the supspension from 1-8 inches, making it possible for me to change out my wheels, don't ask me why i want this, i just think it's cool. I fyou have any ideas for help on this let me know. Write me at huntnful16@aol.com, hope you enjoyed the story.

My first car was a 1970 chevelle. I bought it with my own money when i was 16. I had a lot of fun with this car. It had a 350 in it. I did the body work on it w/ my dad and painted it falcon blue w/ white stripes. I spent about $1000 on flowmaster's, an msd box, hooker headers, carpet, and new bucket seats. I sold the car a year later because the transmission blew. After that I bought another Chevy '87 monte carlo areo coupe ss. I love this car and I'm going to customize it soon.

Well, I only had my first car for about 12 hours, back in 1980. It was a 1970 Buick LeSabre with a 455 that my dad bought me for my 16th birthday. I learned to drive on a underpowered 73 Gran Torino, and was som overcome with the power of the LeSabre, that I lost it around a turn the very next morning and took out 3 parked cars with me. My dad just shook his head, the insurance paid off and that was that. My dad said if I wanted another car, I had to buy it myself. I spent the next 7 months working at Carl's Jr. flipping burgers. My buddy was driving me home from school one day and there I saw my vision, a 1970 Oldsmobile Delta 88. When I checked it out, it too had a 455. I went home, got my savings and popped down $600.00 and drove off. I spent the next two years up on Mulholland Drive (the local spot for hill racers) and learned everything I could about handling a car in any conditions. I was careful as could be those first few years because I had bought that car with my own cash. I still love old cars, though now I do the 50s thing instead of 60s, and I still race. But because of that first lesson, I have never had a street accident again, and rarely ever on the track (sometimes unavoidable when you are on a mud track).

My first car was a 1984 Cutlass Supreme 2 Door Coupe. This car was a monster; I didn’t like the small V6 engine that comes stock so I bought a 400small block out of an 81’MonteCarlo. This car was now starting to take shape. The car was fast as hell I was a little inexperienced and the car got squirmy at times but I learned how to drive it after a while. I was paying more for speeding tickets than I was for insurance and gas put together. Then in October of 2001 I hit a 170 lb Buck on I 30 and destroyed the car. Over the last few months I have rebuilt the front end and put bags on it.

My first, and I still have it, is a '51 Chevy pickup. It was a ugly farm truck, when dad drove it home, but solid and all there. Dad and I did a backyard restore, and I drove it through high school. 19 years later and faith in myself, I tore the truck down and started over. Saved a lot of money doing most of the work, and even my husband got into the project. He did the rewiring, cleaned up the engine (235 6 cyl.) cleaned up the frame and undercoated. 10 months later, she's going to the shows. You can view my project by going to rebuild/restore projects on this website. Hope this story inspires others. Diana

Hey, what's up. I read other peoples first car stories and I didn't see that many Chevelles. So have's one. I'm 15 right now, but last year when I was 14 my dad bought me a 71' chevelle(just like his) for about $1,500. See at first I really wanted a 70-71 Nova, but we couldn't find one so I got the chevelle. We didn't get to work on last year, so this year we are working on it. The car has a 350 small block in it. We put a nice little cam in it too, to make it sound better. We did the body work to it earlier this year and now it's get painted(gts viper blue w/ white racing stripes). When it comes back from getting painted we have the interior to do(what fun). But when it's all done with, it will be a sweet ride.

My first car was a behemoth '70 Olds Delta 88 with a 455. Back in '84, when I got it, I could fill the tank with $20. It had a missing title, so I never got plates for it. That certainly didn't keep me from driving it! I drove it an hour & a half each way to race BMX with my buddies (3 bikes in the trunk - WITH THE WHEELS ON). I got pulled over for doing donuts in a parking lot (later to be the police station!) I told the cop I was "turning around". Believe it or not - he let me off! The Olds was also great for nailing garbage cans. It could push a washing machine down the street like a charm! Not long after it sold, the guy took it hot rodding & blew the engine!

ok here is my first car story. i bought a brown '87 chevy shortwide in December of 2000. it was 2 months till my birthday. i first bought some 15x8 hurricane rims and installed a 50x4 sony Xplod cd player with 2 12" !JBL's pushing an 800 watt amp. it sounded pretty good. it had 135,000 original miles when i bought it. It was pretty good for a 12 yr. old truck. in summer of 2001 i got this bright idea of painting the ride. i sanded and sanded. i painted it flash red and shaved the mirrors, driprails, emblems, and tailgate.I also purchased and installed a rollpan. it looked so sweet the first time i saw it. i then took it to get the windows tinted 5% all around. then i went and bought some 15x10 progressive rims and had 295-50zr-15's rapped around them. they were low profile and wide. then i lowered the rear 4 inches to make it level. and put 40 series flows with single outlets on the ride. and January of 2002 i threw a rod in the 350 and purchased a '95 tahoe 350 motor. it was nice. i took out my engine and had the new one in from 9am to 5:30 pm with the help of my mechanic and a bud. i recently installed new gas ryder shocks. it has a 700R4 tranny with 4:10 gears i think. it will run low 15's in the quarter stock. if you want to know more email me. thanx Joe Lee

My first car is a 1977 Chevrolet Monza 2+2. This car is my baby. I never knew that Chevrolet made a car called that. In this perticular year only 4,092 2+2's were made. Now there is only about 200 left in existance. My dad bought it for me on my 16 birthday from some old lady for 200 dollars. The 2+2's came out with a small block 305 which runs like a stripped ass monkey. Unfortunately I had my reject of a brother help me put belts on it and he some how dented my oil pan and now it hits the crank. So now I am in the process of rebuilding it. Over a period of one year I race a 1989 Bonnevile SSE. I of course won which was suprising. Then I raced a 1992 Blazer w/350 and I won it was close but I won. My last race was a 1978 Olds Cutlass. It had a 350 too I raced it and smoked it. He blamed it on his carb. and radiator. But it just sucked. I had officer Brian Hill clock me @ 124 mph in 13.058 seconds on the quarter. And everything on it is still stock. Well thats the story of my first car.

My first car was and still is a '76 Chyrsler Cordoba, it was an original 360/727 car. The car ran strong with the stock 360, the only mods I did was headers and full exhaust, a MPP intake and 4 bbl carb, MSD 6A ignition and a transpak with B&M megashifter. One night when I was racing a '94 Corvette I revved the motor pass 6,800 RPM and bent a rod and wiped out a rod bearing. The list of cars that I beat is endless. At one point a guy that was driving his ORIGINAL 429 powered Ford Cobrawith his girlfriend decided that he didnt like me revving my engine next to him, when he decided to race at about 35MPH I shifted back into 1st gear and was keeping up with him until he scattered his motor on the asphalt. I still tell that story. With 2.41 gears the car would absolutley murder other cars on the freeway with my top speed of 160+, Ihave witnesses and radar slips (gotta love the cops). The 360 was great but it's broken so I have a 440 on the way with 10.2:1 compression and a BIG cam. It's getting bored .030 and fully balanced. My car has never been in the shop. I'm 19 now and I have fixed everything on the car. My HP estimate is 450+ and I have a 150HP NOS kit on the way. The car should run 13s on the motor and 12s on the spray. I will also put in my 3.55 posi 8 3/4 rearend. Mopars RULE!

Inspired by seeing the 1962 Chevy 409 "Old Reliable" driven by Dave Strickler (Lancaster, Pa.) and tuned by Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins (Malvern, Pa.). It was the first superstocker to turn 100mph and really something to watch prior to the hemi explosion. I was motivated to purchase my first "real" car at that time. It was a 1963 Chevy Biscayne. Powered by a 327 cu. in. 340 horse engine. It was Honduras maroon, no frills, clean lines and quick. In fact, I named it "Bisquick". Maybe some of you older fans actually had seen it run "D" stock. It had a close ratio four speed and a 4:56 rear. All the torque you could imagine. I had "Grumpy" set it up and tune it. He could work his majic with a chevy small block. There wasn't a corvette with the same power set up that could run with it. I had a ball and as you probably can tell still miss the car very much. I sold it for $1300 in 1966 as I was in the service then and headed for a tour in Viet Nam. Boy, what I wouldn't give to get my hands on another one. Thanks if you listened to my babbling. Bill M.

The first car I bought with my own money was a 1962 Chevy Impala SS 409. Yeah, the one immortalized by the Beach Boys song "409". What a beast, twin Carter AFB 4bbl carbs, each big enough to stick your head into, you could literally watch the gas gauge move toward empty while it idled!! A Muncie 4-speed trans, and a 4:11 positraction rear. I remember the engine had so much torque, that the whole car would actually twist to the passenger side and the left front wheel would come off the ground when you floored the gas in 1st gear!! I kept the car for a couple of years, then traded it for a 1969 Mustang Mach 1, but that's a whole different story!

Almost two decades ago I was 16 when I bought a 75 Dodge Dart Sport coupe. It was mettallic dark green with the 3 line white starsky type stripping. It had the usual bondo in the front fenders, heck it was my first; other than that the body was in decent condition. It ran as good as a slant six could. My friends got a kick out of what they called the James Bond smoke feature. The rings and guides were obviously shot for when I climbed steep hills at WOT you couldn't see anything behind for miles. Cops never stood a chance of catching me. The only things the car ever used up were ballasts on the firewall and lots of oil. Your first car teaches you alot of things. I bought a better car a year later- 78 Z28, silver bullet in mint condition. Cammed it, dome, headers and beat every car for an entire summer till I smashed it racing a guy in a provincial park(unfamiliar with the road) I was lucky I never killed anyone for I had a friend who did kill a guy walking across the road. My most interesting race was racing a little Chev Monza Spider with a 350 crammed into it. This monza was the only car that summer to keep up with me till we entered a bend in the road. He disappeared so I turned the z around and went back. Middle of the bend he went off into a fire hydrant and telepole. The car split into two pieces; the front clip seperated totally from the passenger compartment. He was still strapped in his seatbelt with his feet hanging out where the firewall used to be. Miraclulously only his work boot come off and not his foot or leg. First cars can be fun but deadly so be careful and keep it between the lines.

My first, and only car so far, is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. However, it is not your usual 2nd generation t/a. The beast has a 455 olds. under the hood. It has an 850 holley double pumper carb., Hooker headers, a 3000 stall converter, a 3:63 posi rear-end, thrush glasspacks, a mallory ignition, k&n air filter, and an edelbrock intake manifold and chrome edelbrock valve covers, along with various other performance upgrades. the 425 horses help pull this true muscle car to quarter mile times in the mid-13's, and a 0-60 time that comes in right under 5 seconds. The completely agressive '79 t/a looks with the shaker hood scoop and all, are complemented by a brand new chameleon paint job that changes from deep purple to royal blue, depending on what angle you look at it from and where the light source is. Overall, this car is one of the best '79 t/a's that exists, and it belongs to one lucky 15 year old kid, ME. I am thouroughly in love with this car and will probably never get rid of it.

My First car was a 1971 GMC Seirra. Me and my dad restored the truck, sandblasted and powder coated the frame, chopped the top three inches, and installed air ride suspension. We painted it pearl white with old-school ghost flames. The engin was a 350 pushed over to a 383, we made 500 horses out of it a turbo 400 tranny and weld rims with good years.

My first car was a 1955 Chrysler station wagon that my brother gave me in 1970 ... boy, was it ugly! The body was mottled red with a scabby black top. The front grill was hanging by a wire and the interior was nasty. I scrubbed it inside and out and then took it for a drive around the block. When my dad came home, he told me I couldn't keep "that damn hippy wagon" because it was an embarrassment to him and all other car guys. I named the poor thing "Tomato Worm" and had my mom take a picture of me sitting on the hood. My dad tied a rope to the back bumper and the other end to a little elm tree (thinking he would pull out the tree), eased the car forward and - yep, you guessed it - the bumper fell off. He followed through with not letting me drive it again, and traded it in on a pea green Dodge Pioneer that honked everytime I made a right turn (but that's another story).

My first car was a 4 door 1986 Chevy Caprice. For two years that's the only kind of car I wanted. And in August I found th perfect one for me. It has a blue ragtop with a moonroof. Also has a 1 half inch lift. Half gold half chrome grill and only 35,000 original miles. And I purchased it for $2,400. I'm planning on putting 20 inch rims on it, paint the body midnight blue with large flakes, shave the door handles off and just keep it for a nice Sunday afternoon drive.

I got my first truck which was given to me by my grandfather which was a 75 ford, it was very hard to stick and move with the gears really messed up but I enjoyed the ride in the yards with it and on his farm. A month or so before I turned 16 I got me an 87 Jeep Camanche Cheif, paint was bad, bad tintings, but it was 4x4 with good liftings on it, had good acceleration and a V8 and it had a roll bar which saved me and my friends neck when we wrecked it. We wore that thing out it was basically my baja buggy. About a month later a got a 89 E.B. Bronco, we went through some struggles with that thing, it was bad wirings and to electronical, we had to hire a professional to put my radio in, a good engine, plenty of room to put a some speakers in. Well that thing started messing up consistently, finially I got me a 94 F-150, everybody liked it, it was way powerful untill my dad started messing with it and it started giving me trouble and dad messed it up so that even he couldn't repair it, he's got it now. Then for my grades in 10th grade I got me a '97 Ranger, not what I wanted but I was told that it would get fixed up, I got me 2 10's and a amp all of this was like 500 su'em dollars. Now I'm a sophmore in college and I'm determine to fix my truck up with a 4"-5" lift, spread the beams, rebuild the motor, put some new tires on it and probaly puy a Vega 15 under the tool box, put a big Confederate flag sticker on the back glass and making it a 4x4. Though all this is going to burn a whole in my pocket but if I could do all this I would have my dream ride! any comments or ideas on achieving this goal I would greatly appreicaite it, Thanks

my first car ever was a 1980 ford granada,i paided a 125 bucks for it and it had a perfect body, iwas sixteen we called it the blue beast it had a strong inline six i used to sit at the four way and break toruqe it for minutes at a time then one day it just blew up on the highway it burned oil pretty good then i got the best car i ever owned a 86 four door cavalier i beat it so hard every day redline in 20 below winters, threw it in reverse on the highway, drove up logging trails, in cornfeilds, pulled the e-brake around every corner, hit snow piles jumped ditches, pushed boulders out at the state boat ramp. when i was done it had 276,00 miles on it and i drove it to the junkyard, then some friends took it to a car race for beater cars and they won four times and it still wouldn't die, it had 2.0 liter four cylinder the best engine gm ever made it was like the 327 of the middle eighties, thats what they say any ways, i don't know where it is today, but i'm sure its still runnin.

My first car was a late sixties model Toyota hatchback I bought it for fifty dollars from a friend of mine it had been wrecked in the rear end but we put a new axel on it and I drove it home, my Dad put toggle switches in for everything electrical, the brake lights, blinkers, each headlight, and even the starter got a toggle. Somehow I was able to b.s. the guy that does inspections enough to get it to pass. The car got great gas mileage but the tank had a leak so it couldnt hold much and if you parked it for more than a couple of minutes you had to put a pan under the tank to catch the fuel. Unfortunatly the car lost her life in the line of duty when a giant tree jumped out in front of her, she resembled a horseshoe in many aspects but before the tow truck lifted her up to take her to that big car lot in the sky (crusher) I turned the moter over and she got to run one last time,Them riceburmers are ugly and slow but they cannot beat Timex for dependability. Don't hate me for owning this car I was young and very broke. Since I have owned alot of cars including: A 89 Mustang GT, A 86 Pontiac Fiero, A 85 Cadillac Eldorodo, A 62 Lincoln Continintal four door Convertable, A 89 Chevy silverado, A 89 Pontiac Grand Am GT, And about a hundred more and have kept most of my cars and kept them running(my wife really loves it) GBA Brad

You have a great website here! My first car was a 1967 Plymouth GTX that I was given on my 16th birthday by my father who has owned since brand new. I am now 21 and I still own the car.It got me to school everyday back and forth. It a hardtop model with only 38000 miles on it. It has a black exterior and matching deluxe black inteior with a black top. It has a 440 in it with little modifications like a demon carb, edelbrock intake, Mopar performance heads and a .525 lift mopar cam. It makes just over 610 horses as tested by the dyno. I'm know working on installing a full 3 inch flowmaster exhust system with a set of hooker headers. I have run the GTX at Grand Bend Motorplex with a best time of 11.80 at 138 MPH. It holding a set of american racing rims with slicks on the rear and I have the original Magaum 500 rims that are used for car show duty. I have no thoughts of ever selling the car. It's my baby and I know exactly what it is worth. The car delivers optimal performance and maxium fun. Could it get any better than that. Being a Mopar guy is a really wonderful thing!!

My first car was a 1972 Luxury LeMans, tiger gold with a 350 and 350 turbo. It was a four door and all-original, with minor rust. It even had finder skirts and 3 out of 4 of the original hubcaps. After racing, defiying the laws of gravidy, and pulling sceens only before seen on the Dukes of Hazzard, I sold the car, pretty used up, for $800. Hell, I only paid $900 for it. I used the money and an extra $200 to buy a 1968 dodge coronet 2 door with a 318-4v. Last I herd the car was out somewhere in westport. Her name was Christine.

Ever heard of a Mercury Capri? It was an 85 model, almost red, 4 cylinder, and loved mud. It's a shame those c4 transmissions don't. I kept it for 3 years. No performance mods (Why would you it's a 4 cyl.). It had power everything though plus a sunroof. When I sold it there was 142,000 miles on the odometer. I sold it to a buddy of mine for 100 dollars. It needed an 80 dollar camshaft but of course he did not fix it. He sold it for 500 dollars and that man is still driving it about 350 miles a week. No the engine has not been rebuilt yet. I hope my new car lasts as long as it has. Of course it's not as cool though. (Nissan 280z with a 350 chevrolet)

I just turned 16 a little bit after i got my first road legal car which is a 1987 isuzu pickup. i am still 16 when my papaw bought it for $400.00 from charly smiths car lot wich is rigth down the road her. The truck was a repo and it didnt run when we first got it. All we had to do was tighten up the starter and but a head gassket on it. Now we have to but main bearing and rod bearings in it, it is hard to find parts for the stock 4 cylinder for it being a 4 banger it will melt the tires. right now i am just dressing up, next major project is to but a nice kick ass set of rims on it. iI need 6 lugs so it is going to be a bitch to find a set of big and littles to run on it. i am going to lower the front end and leave the rear in the stock positon. Then i am going to have it look like it has a set of dual pipes on it by putting a spliter on it. Then i am going to have the pipes ran through the back bumper and then im going to put a flame throwing kit on it. I have a descent system in it btu it aitn the way i want it. Then i am going to have it painted dark metallic blue and have a medium kandy blue and then i am going to have a light kandy blue put on it so it wil llook 3 different color of blues on it. The windows is tinted with 5% window tint and a couple of decals on it. The biggest thing that i am going to do is that i am going to put a 302 in it while i am at school in wyoming tech hot rod school in larime, wyoming. That mean sthat i am going to have to beef up the rear end of it. well this is my truck truck like it or love it its mine i love it. If you dont like it you can suck my dick. later

my first road legal car is a 1987 isuzu pickup. My papaw bought it for $400.00 from charly smiths car lot wich is rigth down the road her. If you dont like it you can suck my dick. later

My First car was a 1997 Mustang with a 232 3.8Liter V6,a electronically controled 4-speed tranny, man i love that car,it is pacific green, and the stereo system has a 6X9 in each door 2 6X9s in the back and two 10 inch subwoofers running to a 400 watt amp.my father drove it home brand new in July 1998 (It was one of the leftovers) he traded my mother's 1990 red Thunderbird for it,the first thing i did was get Glasspacks (of course!) i plan to get a 302 Boss for it and change it out to a 5 speed semi racing tranny, the most recent thing i have done is change out the Motorcraft Platinum sparkplugs to Splitfire's (with the "V" design!) and got some new plugwires, and that gave me a little bit more power,This weekend i am going to go to ABC Auto and get some more goodies for it.I have Blue lights under the drivers side dash and red ones on the passenger side.and all i listen to is Metallica in it lol.Soon im going to get Dual exhaust and add some chrome rims and in 2003 when it is paid for i will get a new paintjob slapped on it,Either black with silver racing stripes,or the General Lee paintjob with the base color black and the letters&numbers silver.when my mother gets her new credit card im ordering a Dixie horn for it,and getting LOTS of racing decals (Hey,at least it will SEEM to be bad ass lol) anyways, hope you like my first and only car so far (it has 82,133 on the odometer!!!!)

Well my first real car (i say real because it was my first american auto) was a 68 Chevy CST fleetside. Not really a car but close enough. The truck was in great shape and i traded my POS honda for it plus a little extra money. It had a 350 with edelbrock goodies, cherry bombs, big fat tires in the back, it was a really low truck with those low profile tires. The dual side tanks had been taken off for less weight. It was black with a red interior. I got it just two days before graduating high school and it was a blast. I had not been used to that kind of power before. I mean i had driven my friends 68 firebird and various camaro's and my boss's 55 bel air, but this truck was great. Gas was way too expensive but i didn't care, i had a great stereo and a fast truck and no really big obligations to anyone but work. My first ticket was when i beat the socks off a 89 camaro RS and that hurt a little but i was ok with it. The fastest i ever took her was around 125 but that was enough. Well time went on and before too long i didn't pay attention to a lot of things and the tranny started stickin in low gear. Well to make a long story short i blew the front two pistons right out the block and tore the oil pan to bits... pieces and fluid everywhere. :( well now i am starting to restore it, and not worrying about the motor so before too long she'll be back on the road and better than ever, smokin camaro's like cheap cuban copy cigars!~!

my first car was a funny story i was driving my dad's beat up 71 amc javlin when the tranny blew in the middle of knowhere in highwood montanna population of 250. the nearest house was only 400 yards away so i went to ask to use there phone and a little old lady came to the door and asked me in to use the phone. when i told her about the car she said that i could buy her car that was in the barn. so we went out to check it out and there she was a 1969 hemi-cuda that was in perfect shape all original she was asking 2,500 for it but i offerd to give her 5,000 even for it because i just could not milk this old lady for all that money. she told me to take very good care of it for her because it was her son's car who had gone to veitnam in 1970 and died in a chopter crash over there and she thought that he would want a young kid to have it and take care of it this was in 1994 and i still have the hemi and i allways will. pritty cool storry huh. jason myren 25
