Welcome to the
Blue Moon Diner
and
Retro Lounge

I’ve sectioned off the an end of my basement. One corner, approx. 12x18, is the diner. On the opposite side is the retro-living room approx. 12x14.
DINER:
We’ve laid the manditory black and white tile floor. The booths are in place, I have recovered the 3 fountain stools to match the booths, installed the reproduction ‘50s pay phone, brought down the jukebox and I’ve gotten one light hung over the counter. Check out the cool Swift’s Ice Cream sign I picked up at an estate sale. It’s from the late ‘30s. In that same photo you can see the counter top we’ve put on. It’s hard to tell but it’s a small boomerang pattern. We’ll be bringing down an old Coke vending machine that has been converted to a refridgerator.
RETRO-ROOM:
My retro living room is late ‘50s furniture, given to me by a long time friend, which consists of a 2 pc. sectionial, matching chair, lounge chair and blonde record cabinet. I picked up a console radio/phonograph from along side the road that someone was throwing out. A garage sale and Ebay netted me a square corner table and ‘50s lamp that fit perfectly with the decor.
My wife picked up a colorful area rug at Value City for $20. I built a kidney bean shaped coffee table out of birch plywood for a total cost of about $50.00.
Recently I purchased a vinyl chair and blonde end table at a yard sale. I’ll post a pic of the chair as it’s quite unique I think. It reminds me of a bucket seat in a car.Any information you can provide me on this chair would be greatly appreciated. The base has been changed, it was originally a rocker, and on the back there had been a small (probably metal) tag. I can see an indentation in the vinyl and one of the 2 very small nails is still there.
